The white Tara is a peaceful feminine Boddhisattva.
She symbolizes wisom, transcendental sight and complete purity. She grants long life and protects from illness.
Her seven eyes symbolise highest consciousness. According to tantric iconography, six existence fields of Samsara are represented with six eyes. The seventh eye represents perception of wisdom (past, present and future). The perceptions come from her realized state of consciousness. The white Tara blesses all living beings with clearness in spirituality and eternal life.
She has one eye each on her handpalms and footsoles (besides two normal eyes and one on the forehead).
The white Tara holds fully blossomed lotusstalks in her hands and sits with both legs in meditation (Padmasana).
