A new CD entitled Bhairavi: beauty of nature, tribute to Ganges and Varanasi, is a contribution to the antiquity and sacredness of the holy city of Benares (Varanasi) exploring ancient raga music in praise of Mother Ganga and her worship. Those compositions are in tune with the Sama Veda chants and stimulate a peaceful atmosphere and spiritual practice.
The CD is recorded with sound from the towns, bathing ghats, temple halls and puja ceremonies placed between the songs, to create the feeling of worship and praise. The ten special songs mastered and recorded on this CD by great musicians from Varanasi are played with emotion, while keeping the orthodox tradition of music.
Sitar, Tabla, Sarangi, Bamboo Flute and Shenai are used for the compositions, and one song is played in a traditional Bhajan style with Mrdangam, Harmonium and a sweet female voice. Indeed a very rare CD production on the classical indian music market, touched with Devotion and charm.
