Mahakala is seen standing on the corpse of two human bodies, thus symbolizing the death of negativities and the complete uprooting of negative energy. He represents in ancient vedic texts and in shamanism in Nepal Lord Shiva, the Lord of Death (Maha Mrtyunjaya Mantra is used for this!) and the devour of evil forces. He is worshipped but also by tibetan buddhism as the protector of Dharma, and remover of adarmic obstacles. He comes in a very fine and detail work on painting and craftmanship.
Mantra:
Om Triyambakham Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
